PERFECT ATTENDANCE PROGRAM
Program History and Overview: In August 2012, Sames Ford, together with the Laredo Independent School District, announced the first-ever “Drive Sames 4 Education” Car Give-Away (contest drawing) during a press conference held at the Sames Ford Dealership. In 2022, the program was launched in Bastrop in conjunction with Bastrop ISD. In 2024, McAllen ISD, Corpus Christi ISD, and London ISD joined the program rounding up a total of six school districts and a fleet of six new vehicles awarded each school year!
Rules & Participation Guidelines
- Purpose: The purpose of this contest drawing is to help increase daily student attendance at the high school level by giving a new vehicle to an eligible participating ISD high school student who has perfect attendance during the current school year. It is to be noted that the “Drive Sames 4 Education” program will continue to operate as usual and the grand prize give-a-way of the DS4E program will continue to award in participating Independent School District high schools at the end of the school year.
- Guidelines: The following guidelines are meant to ensure consistency in implementing the “Drive Sames 4 Education” Car Give-Away throughout all high schools in the District for the school year.
- Eligibility: Students who are enrolled in a participating school district high school in grades 9-12 are eligible to participate. Additionally, students must be enrolled for at least three classes at their respective high schools by the Monday of the second week of the respective six-week period. Only students whose parents have completed the Student Information Verification (SIV) in Skyward or participating district's system (including residency verification) are eligible.
- Voucher Details and Selection of Finalist: Students may receive up to five vouchers total to be included in the contest drawing based on their perfect attendance during the Contest periods, as defined below. However, a student’s name can only be drawn once to participate in the final phase of the contest. Vouchers will be on a special safety-coded paper and color-coded to represent each of the three high schools. Before the contest drawing, the vouchers must be turned in by a student or parent ONLY at participating Sames dealerships in their school district's participating city during normal business hours.

- Bastrop: Sames Ford 1115 Hwy 71 West in Bastrop or Sames Chrysler 1586 Hwy 71 in Cedar Creek
- Laredo: Sames Ford 6011 San Dario or Sames Kia 6221 San Dario Ave
- Corpus Christi: Sames Ford 4721 Ayers St or 3737 S Padre Island Dr
- McAllen: Sames Ford 1400 E Expressway 83
All vouchers must be turned into Sames as per the contest period’s section indicated on the voucher, in the city assigned to their participating school district. A pre-determined number of students from each high school will be selected as finalists to participate in the final phase of the contest. These finalists will draw numbers, at the parent/ student finalist meeting to determine the order in which envelopes will be selected by the finalists at the finale event. This finale event will be held prior to one of the high school’s graduation ceremonies or at a specified date/ time/ location determined by participating school district and Sames Motor Company. At the finale event, each finalists will choose an envelope in the order determined at the parent/ student meeting. Only one of the envelopes will contain the messsage "YOU ARE THE WINNER OF A NEW SAMES (VEHICLE)!". The student who receives the winning envelope that starts the vehicle will win the new vehicle from assigned Sames dealership. Additionally, the tax, title, and license will be paid for by sponsor or affiliate.
- Contest periods: The Program typically consists of five six-week attendance periods beginning with the second six weeks. The school year calendar adopted by the participating school district(s) shall define the dates to be included every six weeks. However, these periods may vary according to participating school district periods.
- Parent/ finalist meeting: Each of the finalists for the Drive Sames 4 Education program must be present at the Finalist and Parent Meeting that will be held after the high school drawings at the end of the year and before the 1st graduation ceremony. Time, date, and location to be announced. Finalists from each high school, will be selected to participate in the final phase of the contest. One envelope will be distributed to each of the finalists. These finalists will draw numbers, before the final phase of the drawing at the parents and student meeting, to determine the order that they will receive an envelope at the event. The finale event will take place prior to one of the high school’s graduation ceremonies. Only one of the envelopes will indicate the winner of the car. The student who receives the winning envelope will win the new vehicle from the participating Sames dealership. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.
- Perfect attendance defined: Perfect attendance is considered an exceptional attendance record with a student who has been in each scheduled class daily. As determined by the respective participating school district Student handbook, under the attendance section, “students must be in class when the bell rings at the beginning of each class period. Students are to be marked tardy if they report to class after the bell rings without a proper excuse. Four tardies or early releases in any one class shall be counted as one unexcused absence for the award and perfect attendance purposes.” The only absences considered “excused” for this program will be absences recognized as “excused” per the Texas Education Code Section 25.087.
- Verification of perfect attendance: The student attendance system for each participating school district. The campus principal, or designee, will utilize its attendance record keeping system to verify attendance for each defined contest period of students have attained perfect attendance for this program.
- Sames Motor Company Disclaimer: The incentive for this Program will be a new vehicle from Sames Motor Company. The winner must be 18 years old as of the final contest execution (date winner is selected) and have a valid U.S. driver’s license. In the event the winner is not 18 years old and/or does not possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, the winner (or winner’s parent or legal guardian) is responsible for paying applicable fees including tax, title, and license. If the terms cannot be adhered to by the winner, the winner will forfeit the grand prize of a new vehicle and the names of the remaining finalists will be thrown into a lottery where the first name drawn will win the vehicle. The next winner will also abide by the same contest drawing rules and details outlined in these administrative guidelines. If the next winner cannot abide by the contest drawing rules and outline above, another name will be drawn until the winner can abide by the contest drawing rules and details. Proof of identification, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and age is required. Sames Motor Company, and other affiliated companies reserve the right to modify the contest as needed. Certain restrictions apply.

BISD makes no warranty concerning the condition, performance, or adequacy of any incentive or car awarded.
ISSUANCE OF VOUCHERS
All decisions regarding the issuance of a contest voucher will be made by the participating school districts and/or respective administration policies.
All decisions are final and may not be appealed.
No replacements for lost/misplaced vouchers.
